Brackets is an open source and free text editor, initially created by Adobe Systems, and at present maintained on GitHub. It has been available since 2014, and it is regularly updated. I searched for this and found Maudite's question about text editors but they were all for Windows. As you have no doubt guessed, I am trying to find out if there are any text/code editors for the Mac besides what I know of. I'll edit my post to include editors listed. Textwrangler; Xcode; Mac Vim; Aquamacs and closer to the original EMacs.
